Weeds
Weeds is a dark comedy drama that premiered on Showtime on August 7, 2005. The show ended at eight seasons. The show came on Mondays at 10pm. In the TV show Weeds, a suburban mother, Nancy Botwin, turns to selling marijuana to take care of her family after the death of her husband. Throughout the duration of the show, a completely ‘normal’ suburban community progressively becomes less ‘normal’; they start out as a ‘typical suburban’ community and become more accepting of things that they usually would not be fond of. What I mean by ‘typical suburban’ is a community filled with strictly white families living in painfully similar houses closed off from anything that does not align with their way of life, such as not going to college, smoking marijuana or even being a single mother.
